The 2021 Convention offers two registration options: in-person and virtual!

Procedures regarding COVID-19: All convention attendees will be required to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination or a negative test for COVID-19 within 72 hours of the event. Information regarding the process for providing this documentation will be sent to all registrants and participants closer to the event date. The AAEP also will follow the most current guidance from the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention at the time of the event regarding the wearing of masks. 

  • In-Person Registration includes four days of educational sessions offering more than 150 CE hours from which to choose; access to the three-day Trade Show with more than 300 exhibitors plus lunch each day; the Proceedings book; and free social events like the Welcome Reception and The After Party. The in-person event takes place Dec. 4-8. All in-person attendees also receive on-demand access to digital recordings of all scientific presentations and can participate in the live post-Convention Table Topics to be held virtually Dec. 13-17. 

  • Virtual Registration includes on-demand access to digital recordings to all scientific presentations plus live post-Convention Table Topics to be held virtually Dec. 13-17. On-demand viewing will be available beginning Dec. 13, with all sessions available for viewing by Dec. 31. The Proceedings book will be mailed to all virtual registrants. 

Note: Sessions are available on-demand indefinitely for both virtual and in-person convention registrants. CE hours from on-demand sessions can be earned through March 31, 2022.

Anyone may register for the AAEP Annual Convention. AAEP Members in good standing receive discounted rates based on their member status. Discounted AAEP registration types include:

  • AAEP Member: Paid full membership dues through June 30, 2022. Fee covers meeting registration, access to trade show and 2021 Annual Convention Proceedings book.

  • AAEP Honor Roll Member: Any member who has attained the age of 70 with 40 consecutive years of AAEP membership.

  • AAEP Resident Member:  Must be enrolled in a residency program at a recognized college or school of veterinary medicine with a focus of equine medicine/research. Must already be categorized as an AAEP Resident Member or will need to provide a letter from an advisor confirming residency status.   •  AAEP New Member Applicant: Fee covers meeting registration, access to trade show and 2021 Annual Convention Proceedings book. Also covers initiation fee and/or dues through June 30, 2022. Attendees applying for membership must complete an applicationPlease note that if you are a new member applicant, you need to click the nonmember option to begin registration and then choose New AAEP Member registration category. Your registration will be noted as pending until your member application has been approved.

  • AAEP New Student Member Applicant: Offered to individuals pursuing their DVM, not to DVMs obtaining advanced degrees. Verification of academic status is required at the time of registration.* Please note that if you are a new student member applicant, you need to click the nonmember option to begin registration and then choose New AAEP Student Member registration category. Please send verification to Kristin Walker at kwalker@aaep.org.

  • Non-Member: Not a current paid member, or an individual not eligible for AAEP membership. Fee covers meeting registration, access to trade show and 2021 Annual Convention Proceedings book.


*Must provide a copy of an unofficial transcript or equivalent, verifying current enrollment in a DVM or equivalent program. Student IDs are no longer accepted.
