AAEP members rank physical and mental health just behind work-life balance as their top wellness concerns. The following convention offerings are devoted to these priorities.

Practice Life Sessions
Saturday, December 7, 3:00-5:00 p.m. 

Join us for a new convention offering: Practice Life is a series of conversations devoted to helping you successfully navigate the daily rigors of life in
equine practice. Each discussion will be facilitated by a veterinarian who has “been there and done that.” These sessions are meant for group think,
so plan to attend and contribute by adding your own experiences to the discussion.

Sessions will run concurrently on the following topics: 

  • Creating a Culture of Wellness

  • Planning for Maternity Leave

  • Managing Emergency Coverage

No advance sign-up in necessary; just show up and plan to participate.

AVMA Trust Center for Wellbeing
Sunday, Dec. 8-Tuesday, Dec. 10, 7:30 a.m.-2:00 p.m.

Take steps to ensure your physical wellness by visiting the AVMA Trust Center for Wellbeing, which will offer an a la carte menu of health tests at below-market prices. Available tests, with prices for AVMA members and non-members, are: Chem Panel (free/$40); HSCRP ($15/$20); CBC ($10/$15); PSA Test ($15/$20); Vitamin D ($35/$40); Thyroid Panel ($20/$25); Rabies Titer ($50/$60); and A1c ($10/$20).

Massage Station

Take advantage of a refreshing upper body massage to relieve tension in the neck, back, shoulders and arms. The massage lounge is staffed by licensed, professional massage therapists and is located within AAEP Connect inside the Trade Show.

AAEP Denver Run/Walk Tour

Separate fee required: $35

Pack your running shoes for a fun and educational running and walking tour through one of America's most outdoorsy cities. At designated landmark stops, running guides will share interesting stories of the city's history. Suitable for all abilities, the group-oriented run will offer four different paces - from under 9 minutes per mile to a walking group. The running group will cover four miles and the walking group will cover one to two miles.

Runners will meet in the registration-area lobby of the convention center at 6:15 a.m. Giveaways will be provided to all participants. Register here.
